Before You Set Out
Beyond Borders creates guided motorcycle and SUV expeditions through the mountains, valleys and remote landscapes of Northeast India. Our journeys combine carefully planned routes, local experiences, accommodation and on-road support to make exploring the region more accessible and enjoyable.
Not necessarily. Our tours are designed with different levels of difficulty, and the required riding ability can vary by route. Each tour clearly indicates its difficulty so you can choose a journey that matches your experience and comfort level.
Yes. Selected expeditions offer an SUV travel option, allowing you to experience the same journey without riding a motorcycle. Some tours may also accommodate pillion travellers, depending on the route and tour format.
Inclusions vary by tour, but may include accommodation, tour coordination, route guidance, permits or permit assistance, planned sightseeing and on-road support. Each tour page provides a detailed What's Included / What's Not Included section so you know exactly what your package covers.
Mountain travel can be unpredictable, so our expeditions are planned with changing road and weather conditions in mind. Depending on the route, support can include experienced trip leaders, backup vehicles, basic first aid, emergency assistance and additional high-altitude support where required.
It depends on the destination and the kind of experience you're looking for. In Meghalaya, October to April generally offers better conditions for trekking and exploration, while the monsoon months bring dramatically fuller waterfalls and greener landscapes. Weather can change quickly in the hills, so we plan each expedition around the conditions of the route.
